Timetable of your application

End of the year - organisation
For attending an internship through iaeste you should organize the following year in detail during the current year. An internship abroad is demanding a lot of commitment and independency. Please try to focus on your plans and keep your holiday plans flexible, keep an eye on your examination dates and check all your important documents validity.
January - Spots are exchanged
February - Spots are handed out
March - Application and Second Round
April - Leftover spots
May/June - Contact with the employer
June-October - Internship

1) Tell us who you are within the pre-application and what type of internship you wish for

To be able to apply for an internship with IAESTE Leipzig, you have to be enlisted in a college or university that is located in the Leipzig metropolitan area. Also you have to be younger than 30 years old and successfully completed the second semester of bachelor. Individual requirements like languages and field of study are set by the employer.

For this first non-committal pre-application we need the following documents from you: your Cirriculum Vitae (CV), your Transcript of Records, your Language Degree, your Certificate of enrollement and your Motivation Letter for us.

The motivation letter is a big part of your application where you get the chance to describe to us what your personal motivation is to apply for an internship abroad through IAESTE. Why do you participate? Why IAESTE? What do you expect from a stay abroad?

  • maximum one page DIN A4 as PDF
  • anonymously
  • preferred in English

Later you need to apply with a cover letter directly to the employer.

The deadline for your first step is the 12th of January 2020.

2) Application for an internship spot

If you have been offered an internship spot after the distribution round (look at the left column for further information on the timetable of your application) and you accepted it, 
you will get your login credentials for the our exchange platform. Then you are able to upload all the necessary documents for your application in a single PDF.

Please make sure that
-> the PDF has all the necessary documents in the correct order
-> all the documents are in a single PDF

Generally all in English and/or as requested by the O-form:

  • Student Nominated Formular (Download). Please only fill out with your computer. Handwritten forms cannot be accepted.

  • O-Form as the Orginal - please make yourself a copy

  • Cover Letter to your employer

  • Cirriculum Vitae (CV)

  • Transcript of Records as handed out by the university. Please don't forget to explain all your marks (because for example a 5 is the best mark you can get in Russia)

  • Language Degree- TOEFL, Cambrigde Certificate or comparable international recognized language test

  • Copy of your passport - well readable, Attention: In Russia your passport has to be valid for atleast 18 months at the time you enter the country

  • Certificate of enrollement from your collage or university (newest)

  • as the circumstances require: more documents, if they are wanted in the foreign bid form.

  • as the circumstances require: health insurance from the DAAD

You can apply for a grant for transportation as well at the online DAAD-Portal. You have to be a german student or receiving Bafög. You can find further information here.

Also you can apply for a ERASMUS+ grant for internships. Ask at your universitys international office for counselling.

Please only buy your flight tickes after you got accepted for the placement.
